The purpose of this card is to allow free travel at the point of use on virtually all bus services in Kent operated by participating operators. For more clarification of this please go to www.kent.gov.uk/post16travel. In order to be eligible to apply for this pass you must be resident in Kent.

Applications (but no payments) for the 16/17 Kent 16+Travel pass can be made directly by students to KCC Public Transport on-line at www.kent.gov.uk/post16travel. The form will be available online from Monday 6th June. The deadline date for applications in order for the pass to be received on the first day of the new term is 15th July 2016.

Payment for the card should be made direct to the School and not sent to KCC.  The card will not be issued without this payment. Your card will be available to collect at the beginning of the new term from the Finance Office in Penfold.

These payments can now be made using our cashless payment system. WISEPAY is a secure online service that allows parents to make payments to the school using debit or credit cards. This is now the preferred method of payment for the school.

The cost of the pass is £400 per year, however if your total household income is under £20,818 per year or your daughter is registered with KCC for free school meals, then the school will make a contribution of up to £300 towards the cost of the Travel Card.  This will be taken from the School’s 16–19 Bursary Fund. So if you receive this contribution then this will form part if not all of a Folkestone School for Girls Bursary.  This subsidy will only be offered if you have a travel need*.

Please return this form along with any evidence to support your claim to the Finance office.

If you have any queries about your eligibility to apply for the School’s 16–19 Bursary Fund then please contact Mrs Foster in the Finance Office.

*Distance from home to school must be more than 2 miles
