Biology Week will take place in the last week of term, and to celebrate it the Science Department are taking part in the Royal Society of Biology's national event, The Biology Week Spelling Bee!

The following message has been sent to all students via google classroom:

Qualifiers for the Spelling Bee will run in a tutor time in the week beginning Monday 6th October. In preparation for the qualifiers, you may want to start learning how to spell the words that could come up. For the qualifiers, your form tutor will read out 20 words, and you will try and spell them on paper. The highest scorers in each form will have the opportunity to take part in the Spelling Bee Finals, where you will need to spell the words out loud. The finals for KS3 will be on Monday 13th October at 12.30pm in 604. The KS4 and KS5 finals will be on Thursday 16th October, 12.30pm in 604.

There will be prizes for everyone who reaches the finals, and Amazon vouchers and an alternative trophy handmade by Mrs Robertson for the overall winners in each key stage. Taking part in the final is completely optional- if you win the qualifiers in your form, you don’t have to take part in the finals if you don’t want to! You will get achievement points regardless.

If you have any questions, please ask your form tutor or Miss Martin.
