Student Development Team

Your child's Student Development Leader (SDL)

Each year group has an SDL who will move through the school from Year 7 into Year 8 into Year 9 and beyond, with their year group. This allows real relationships to be built between SDLs and their girls but also relationships with families too. SDLs then will develop a real working knowledge of their girls and their families that will see girls through their entire FSG career.

The SDL will normally be the first port of call for any communication with the school. The title of the role is crucial; these staff are there to support the students, the girls, in their development – academic, personal and pastoral and whilst they will be the main channel of communication between home and school their role is child focused. During school hours their priority will always be the girls and whilst we will endeavour to respond promptly to calls and emails that will not be instantaneous. As you would wish for and expect the girls come first, they are the priority.
